Andrea M. Guenster studied International Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Maastricht University. She received her Masters Degree in August 2005 with a major in Money & Banking as well as Econometrics. The final thesis she wrote evolved from her assistance position in the Organization & Strategy as well as Economics department (February-December 2003) and is titled "Empirical Evidence on European Antitrust Enforcement: Indicative Statistics on the History and Determinants of European Commission Decisions, Appeals Proceedings and Sentences by the Court of Appeal".

As of September 1st 2005, she is working as a Ph.D. Candidate in the Organization & Strategy Department. Her Ph.D. project deals with international antitrust enforcement, with a focus on the European Union employing an empirical perspective and is supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Carree in cooperation with Dr. Maarten Pieter Schinkel (UvA).
