Sjir studied International Management at the University of Maastricht, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and graduated in 2005. He wrote his Master thesis about “Impression management in group situations”. In 2006 he received his Master degree (cum laude) in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Maastricht, Faculty of Psychology. For his final thesis he performed an internship at the Center for Man in Aviation of the Royal Netherlands Air Force and wrote his final thesis about the selection of student pilots for military pilot training.


Position: PhD candidate

Specialization: Team research, Shared cognition (shared mental models, transactive memory, shared situation awareness), Aviation psychology.

PhD: Maastricht University, from January 2007, The nature of shared cognition in high reliability teams. Supervisors: prof. dr. Mary J. Waller (promoter), prof. dr. Robert Roe.
