Welcome to PhD Web,

In June 2005 METEOR organized a PhD-lunch to stimulate communication between the PhDs at our faculty and METEOR. During this lunch it was noted that PhDs have a lot of questions concerning a wide variety of topics. Moreover, most of the participants said they would value future (informal) meetings to get better acquainted with their fellow PhDs and also exchange information with them.

All of this was the reason for setting up a PhD Activity Commission which has two goals: sharing knowledge and stimulate social interaction. The commission is supported by METEOR.

The first goal will be accomplished by the creation and maintenance of this PhD Web. This website contains relevant information for PhDs, such as software, conferences and our activities. The content of the website is flexible and will depend on your input. Thus you can help others with your knowledge and vice versa!

We will address the second goal, stimulating social interaction between the different departments, by yearly organizing two activities exclusively for PhDs.

We hope you will appreciate our initiative and help us making both the website and the activities a success!
