The goal of eLearning within the ERD department is to contribute to enhancing the quality of education by integrating emergent technologies. This is accomplished by leading innovative research initiatives (both local and national projects) and by training, consultancy and cross-institutional collaborations to encourage eLearning opportunities. ICT in education can best be achieved from a didactic perspective and we focus on bridging the gap between theory and practice through online and blended possibilities. Moreover, the ERD department is occupied with the following projects:

• MARCHet (national project) – online modules for course redesign with ICT
• UM e-Teacher (local project) – online modules and training
• Oase (national project)
• Secondlife in Education (UM project)
• Social Networking – utilizing facebook to connect learners to achieve educational goals
• Mobile Learning – using mobile devices (i.e. smartphones, iphones, etc.) to deliver content and engage learners
• Building virtual communities – connecting students, companies & universities on knowledge and experiences
• Learning and working – offering education to working professionals using ICT
