ALMUM
Asset Liability Management at the University of Maastricht

Introduction
The project Asset Liability Management at the University of Maastricht (ALMUM) is a joint initiative of the Department of Quantitative Economics and the Department of Finance of the Faculty of the University of Maastricht and was set up in 2002. It is designed to serve as a platform on all matters related to Asset Liability Management (ALM), to intensify research on ALM at the University of Maastricht and partner universities as well as to speed up the exchange of latest information between the academic and the business community.
One of the highlights of ALMUM is its annual post graduate course on ALM providing executives from insurance companies, banks and pension funds with the up-to-date theory on ALM and detailed case studies. This course was offered for the first time in 1999 and has been taught in English since 2002.
In 2005 the course is restructured. The program is now taught in one week in order to put even more emphasis on the practical implementation and to make it possible to attrack an international audience.
