Pedagogical Framework

The aim

How do you design an online programme for prospective master students with diverging knowledge, skills and competences from a didactical perspective? Which Pedagogical scenarios can be used in order to effectively remediate a variety of skills and knowledge problems? Besides several Pedagogical principles in different educational models, the use of ICT within each model plays a central role in this Work-package.

Start and finish dates

October 2006 – March 2007

The role and the tasks

Lübeck University of Applied Sciences is the work package leader and UM will provide overall project management. Each partner analyses the Pedagogical scenarios used within its institution and assesses whether and how this Pedagogical scenario has to be adjusted for an online remedial teaching programme. WP 2.1 will be first drafted by FHL, WP 2.2 is drafted by UM, and WP 2.3 will be a joint effort. FHL will coordinate the final comparative report on Pedagogical scenarios. This work package is one of the main activities of FHL in 2007, while the other partners allocate more of their available time to the first round of pilots (see later work packages. FHLs experience with oncampus/Baltic Sea Virtual Campus can be of great benefit to the other partners when setting up their pilots later.

The working methods and techniques

The Pedagogical scenarios developed within each institution and the experiences in the remaining work-packages are used to share experiences, knowledge and skills. These results should be reusable for other institutions as well. To realise collaborative/innovative e-learning methods, designated teachers require technical tools and Pedagogical instructions. Appropriate approaches should be defined and implemented in the e-learning environment. In addition, strategies for disseminating the benefits of applying collaborative e-learning methods and to give practical experience need to be developed. Finally, a so-called “quick-scan” of initiatives elsewhere will be done in order to learn about the challenges faced by other projects and the resulting best practice developments.
